Microphone Position: Directly in front of microphone. Center of element slightly above lips.
Distance: About 4 inches away from pop filter.
Additional Setup: JZ pop filter was used about 1.5 inches away from microphone. Our laser alignment was locked in for further microphone tests.
Our Comments: Out of the condenser mics, we preferred the Gemini 5 FET, the Mojave Audio MA201, and the Audix SCX-25. For tube mics, we chose the sound of the sE Electronics Gemini II, with the full and rich sounding Mojave Audio MA200 bringing it in at a close second. Of the dynamics, we liked the sound of the Audix D4.
