Microphone Position: In front of drum kit
Distance: About 67 inches above ground and 7.5 feet in front of kick drum
Additional Setup: Since this was a distance miking setup we recorded around 8 mikes at a time and had multiple passes.
Our Comments: Although the desired room mic sound will change depending on the product, we felt a few mics stood above the rest. These include the Audix SCX-25 and Mojave MA201. Out of the dynamic mics, the Audix i5 and D4 both sounded great, with the D4 having a slightly more controlled sound.
