The Pearl ELM-A is a large-diaphragm multi-pattern condenser microphone designed to meet specific recording demands. It features a unique linear capsule with more than twice the surface area of traditional round capsules, resulting in an exceptional signal-to-noise ratio and a nearly resonance-free frequency response.

Unique Polar Pattern

The ELM-A's specialty lies in its polar pattern, which is a standard cardioid horizontally and significantly narrower vertically. This distinctive pattern is ideal for capturing sound sources with precision while minimizing unwanted floor and ceiling reflections.

Dual Independent Outputs

Equipped with two separate outputs via a 5-pin XLR connector, the ELM-A provides independent cardioid patterns, one from each membrane of the dual membrane capsule. This configuration allows for "Back to Back" output or 180-degree stereo recording. Both sides can be used simultaneously or independently, providing exceptional flexibility in recording setups.

Variable Patterns

When connected to two inputs on a console or DAW, the ELM-A can achieve omni, figure-of-eight, or cardioid patterns by using pan pots and phase shifting on one channel, offering versatility in sound capture.
