The SB-4 features a 1/4" input designed specifically for instrument pickups. Unlike conventional direct boxes with a 1meg-ohm input impedance, the SB-4 boasts a high 10meg-ohm impedance. This higher impedance effectively smooths out problematic peaks associated with piezo pickups, resulting in a more natural and pleasing sound. The active circuitry within the SB-4 handles the high-to-low impedance conversion and signal balancing, enabling long cable runs of up to 100 meters without signal loss. The result is exceptional linearity and minimal distortion across the audio spectrum.

To address common stage issues like feedback, the SB-4 includes a high-pass filter and a 180 polarity reverse switch. The high-pass filter reduces excessive low-end frequencies that can cause resonance and instrument vibrations. Meanwhile, the polarity reverse switch alters the phase relationship between the PA system and room acoustics to mitigate acoustic hot spots on stage, eliminating the need for excessive equalization that can compromise your instrument's natural tone.

Connectivity options include an AUX out for routing to a stage amplifier and a standard XLR output for feeding the PA system. Power is conveniently supplied by the console's 48V phantom power, eliminating the need for batteries or an external power supply. Simply connect, activate phantom power, and start playing.
