bx_digital V2
bx_digital V2 is a state-of-the-art digital mastering processor that provides you with a mastering class 11-band equalizer, M/S De-Esser, Mono-Maker and intelligent Bass- and Presence-Shifters, plus extra M/S features, such as Pan for M&S, and Stereo Width Control.
bx_digital V2 works in 3 modes(!) including a sophisticated "M/S Mastering" mode and emulates the three most outstanding modes of the analogue Modus EQ bx1, whereas the software offers literally all the features of the hardware including the M/S-Solo-Buttons, and a lot of functions that the hardware doesnt even offer (Auto Listen, etc).
bx_control V2
bx_control V2 is a control listening tool and an M/S matrix with built-in Mono Maker & Stereo Width control. bx_control also features hi resolution metering for Peak and RMS levels in AES 17 and square wave formats. This nice little M/S tool can be used for a wide variety of sophisticated applications: chain any stereo plug-in (even tools from other vendors) into the Brainworx M/S matrix , control the Stereo Width, or mono out bass frequencies of stereo signals with our unique Mono Maker tool.
bx_control V2 offers solo listening to M (mono sum), S (stereo difference signal), L (left channel) or R (right channel) phase-corrected and mono-ed on both speakers or "in place" with its four dedicated solo buttons, another Brainworx invention. Easily swap channels with its L/R flip button.
bx_hybrid
bx_hybrid is a state-of-the-art Mono & Stereo EQ. It contains several unique tools, such as an internal M/S Processor (stereo version only, of course) for Stereo Width Control & a Mono Maker (a Brainworx invention that will mono out any stereo signal up to a certain user-adjustable threshold frequency with only one knob - while automatically compensating for the potential loss in the overall bass-spectrum).
bx_hybrid was designed to map any & all EQ features of the Digidesign ICON center section EQ knobs! This means 7-band EQ incl. Lo- and Hi-Pass filters with various adjustable filter orders (up to 5th order - 30dB/octave), Lo- and Hi-Shelving EQs, Peak filters, Notch-filters (with adjustable Q!), and another Brainworx invention:
The JOYSTICK EQs - BASS- & PRESENCE SHIFTER EQs (taken from bx_digital) with shiftable center-frequencies (per common request). When used with Digidesign ICON controllers these Shifter EQs can be mapped to and controlled by the Surround Panners of the ICON, making this EQ an 11-band EQ with truly unique ease-of-use! There is nothing like the Bass Shift for tweaking bass-drums, and do try the Presence Shift for accoustic guitars. A sophisticated Auto Solo Mode will solo single frequency bands and tweak Q controls - upon mouse-click or when used with the touch sensitive EQ knobs of the ICON!
With internal Double Precision calculating these EQs work with double resolution in 44 and 48kHz sessions, this way avoiding Nyquist frequency problems and allowing for digital EQing up to 26 kHz in low res sessions.
bx_dynEQ V2
The concept of the bx_dynEQ V2 is a truly NEW approach to dynamic EQ-ing, using innovative M/S features and the new "Inverse Mode" to allow for results not possible with any other EQ.
bx_dynEQ V2 is a mini-bundle in itself, containing bx_dynEQ mono, bx_dynEQ stereo (L/R) and bx_dynEQ stereo (M/S).
The M/S version introduces our unique "cross-feed" M/S feature, which allows M & S signals to actually "trigger" each other! An impressive selection of filter types including our new Brainworx band-pass filters and our trademark Bass-Shift and Presence Shift filters make this EQ an engineers swiss knife. Preset knobs in the GUI enable the engineer to find good starting points fast and easy despite of the complexity of this new monster
The new EXTERNAL SIDECHAIN INPUT lets your mixes pump in sync with individual signals and lets you create crazy effect sounds as well.

bx_shredspread
bx_shredspread is a stereo processor to be used on any stereo guitar subgroup or stereo guitar channels. bx_shredspread' s main purpose is to make sure your stereo ("doubled") guitar signals sound "wide and phatt" - as easy and fast as possible. ;-)
Stereo-guitars that have been created by recording several mono tracks (aka "doubled" guitars) will benefit best from the auto-correcting features and the "SHRED-filter", but bx_shredspread will work on conventional stereo guitar sounds and stereo samples as well, of course.
Although mainly created for guitars bx_shredspread may also be used on keyboard groups, organs, choirs, etc.
bx_shredspread is a tool to control panning, stereo width and the "tone" of your stereo guitar tracks / groups. It automatically avoids typical phase problems that can occur when using M/S technology via some sophisticated algorithms for stereo width, EQ and pan.
bx_XL
bx_XL is a low latency M/S mastering limiter. Its main purpose is to help you get your mixes loud while keeping them clear (undistorted). "As loud" as any major label production and less "squashed" than many of them.
While we developed the bx_XL processor we found ourself wondering several times why it seems to be a "must have" in the audio-world today to "limit" your mixes to the extreme. While you can do so with bx_XL we truly believe that there is a certain stage at which you should STOP to squash your mixes more and more to eventually achieve "huge loudness" or volume.
From a certain level on we at BX feel that too much loudness is a true limitation for your music. Limitation in dynamics, in power and strength... Certain music styles seem to require that squashed sound and "loud first impression", but you might achieve a bigger and longer lasting impact with a powerful mix that is loud indeed... but not dead yet. Please do keep this in mind when cranking up your mixes.
bx_XL internally converts stereo signals into M (mid / sum) and S (side / difference) signals and splits the M channel into 2 bands (hi & lo). This way you can limit and level 3 individual channels to increase loudness and improve clarity of stereo mixes drastically - with much less distortion artifacts and while keeping much more "punch" than any other limiter system.
Via the Crossover Frequency slider the "MidLo" channel can be used to separate the bass drum and limit it different than the rest of your mid signal easily! This is great for all kinds of dance, rap, techno and rock music!
After the 3 channels of bx_XL have been mixed back together to a regular L/R stereo signal internally the signal runs through an additional (fourth!) final standard brickwall peak stop limiter which offers an adjustable master out level.
bx_XL also has a 3 band "psycho-acoustic" loudness maximizer built-in and offers 4 automatable settings with copy & paste functionality. All these features combined with 32 steps of Undo / Redo and various detailed Level meters make for a sophisticated dynamics & loudness control system second to none.
We recommend bx_XL to be used as the final plugin on the stereo master buss for mixing and mastering purposes and it can work great on any stereo bus / stereo sub group as well.
bx_XL is based upon the M/S technology taken from our "modern classic" M/S EQ bx_digital. We developed this hi-end analogue EQ 2006/2007 and we have offered a plug-in emulation of this EQ ever since. Engineers and magazines around the globe rave about bx_digital so we decided to develop a limiter that "teams up" perfectly with our EQ in mastering situations.
Multiple Solo, Auto Solo and Link features enable the engineer to precisely adjust all stages of this hi-end mastering limiter.
bx_XL looks quite complex at first, but once you get the internal signal flow and audio splits you will be able to use it intuitive and fast.
bx_solo
bx_solo is a nice little tool that we have designed to get you started with and used to the way we approach the M/S technique - be it for recording-, mixing- or mastering purposes. The "heart" of our M/S tools are our unique SOLO BUTTONS that allow you to actually LISTEN to all components of a stereo mix / stereo signal individually.
bx_cleansweep
bx_cleansweep is a new Hi-Pass and Lo-Pass filter plug-in, introducing the new "Anti Crush Technology" (originally developed by Brainworx).
